Artist Statement
“I came to wheelthrowing as an analytically-minded person who never felt ‘artistic.’ In clay, I found a dialogue between control and letting go - guiding physics and chemistry into form. I’m drawn to elevating earth into something meaningful, embracing texture, nature, and awe. Through alternative firings like saggar and obvara, I explore patterns that feel both unpredictable and divinely ordered, reflecting my ongoing navigation of my Jewish faith and the tension between complexity and simplicity.”
